Tsingtao and how!

Written: May 28 '00

Tsingtao is an imported rice beer from China; and has been around for many, many years. Tsingtao is relative in comparison to the Japanese rice beer, Sapporo and has many of the same qualities.
Tsingtao is smooth and refreshing to consume and leaves little or no aftertaste. There are no real endearing things about Tsingtao, that would draw me towards reaching for a cold one other than the sound of the name.
The prices of Tsingtao vary from region to region here in the States, but all in all from what I have seen they seem to be reasonable for an import. ( Wish we could say that about some other imports!)
Most men I know prefer something with Barley or Hopps rather than rice, however I believe that the ladies may find this beer appealing to their palates. Tsingtao can usually be found at your local liquor store ladies!
Most Asian food (even Thai) goes well with a bottle or two of Tsingtao, but Chinese is probably most compatible.
In conclusion, Tsingtao is a pretty good Lager but I have had better.
