I have never been one who understands ever aspect of business. I look and read and see what is going on Techonlogy wise.. but overall I am not super brainy in stocks etc.
MainXchange is meant in some ways for kids, but currently there is no age limit on those who can be members (I am 20 and loving it).
The concept is simple. You are given money and given access to buy & sell stock at the current prices, but not 'really' purchase them. For instance I bought about 100 shares of Microsoft on the game, I watched the stock go up and down! The system uses the REAL stock data to play the game.
This is nice for kids. As CNET's TV.com noted this is probably not a good setup for classrooms since it is very heavy on Java applets and such and may cause a load on school servers. I work at a High School and I know how pesky our servers can be at heavy load times the Proxy Server ends up just giving up!
Overall the system is nice. Personal use or something to teach your kids is what I would use it for. I imagine if I EVER decide to purchase stock I will probably use MainXchange to do some field testing if you will!
Oh and those of you looking for some sort of reward, you can gain X-Stars and trade then in or use them on Online Auctions for goodies, like Cash, and Merchindice!
Head on over and get hooked on the Xchange!
