Motley Fool is the grandest example of a useful financial web site that actually gives out relevant financial information and research. When looking at the other web sites, I always have to wonder whether the creators of the site have a vested financial interest in the stocks that they are pushing. At Motley Fool, this is not the case as full financial disclosure is given not only by the site creators but by each individual writer as well.
There is balanced coverage by the "fools" as well. They will always represent both sides of the stories on particular stocks. They lay out all the crucial facts and statistics and then allow you, the investor, to make the ultimate decision based on the information provided. They also not only focus on the hot sectors like biotechnology and communications but they also will focus on the so called boring sectors like utilites and essential services. They give an overall view of the market not just a fragmented one.
Some of my favorite sections at the Motley Fool web site include the discussion boards. There are always interesting opinions flying around there but take the advice given with a grain of salt as with any financial discussion by others. They also have a Motley Fool research tool which can give you background information on any company and also their relevant financial data.
Check out the personal finance section as well. Great advice for getting out of debt, paying off huge credit card bills, and other financial situations.
The thing about this particular internet company is that they will give you practical advice in a simple, easy to understand manner. Check out The Motley Fool at fool.com for a good look at finance, the stock market, and the economy as a whole.
