Love at first site: my CUMar 01 '00 Write an essay on this topic. When I was born my parents opened up my first credit union account. I now no longer live in my hometown, much less the same state, but I still do my business (as much as possible) with my hometown credit union. Credit Unions. I maintain my savings, auto loan and credit card with this my hometown establishment. My checking is at a local credit union for ease of withdrawals. I can immediately get my cash, I can call and make transactions, and I can show my face and they know my name (no membership card or deposit book). My father not only bought me a truck once from my hometown, but my credit union let him do the paperwork until I could get into town some time in the future. Credit Unions treat customers like humans and assets. I LOVE credit unions.... Banks. I belonged to a bank in college so my parents could deposit money locally to reach me. However, reach me it often did not. They would hold cash for weeks at a time in their paperwork trail. I had numerous charges on my account, real or imagined, such a fee just to talk to a human! Crazy! I was sold so many times and my fees were raised without my approval that I had to finally drive 50 miles to close my account!! They charged me to do that too! Banks treat people like numbers and nuisances. |
