Better than the flat tax

Apr 05 '00

OK kids here's the deal. Flat tax, income tax, blah blah blah...it's all controlled by the government. We're basically paying for the privilege to live in the United States of America. As if it doesn't cost us enough to live here in the first place. If I were running the country (and for anyone who agrees with me, check out www.keyes2000.com) I would be in favor of letting the people keep more of what they make. We should be able to control how much money goes to the federal government. How could this happen? Forget the flat tax, how about a federal sales tax. That way you could control how much taxes you paid out by decreasing or increasing spending. PLUS...more money stays in your pockets as well as feeding the government as well.

Stay with me here. Think about it. The economy is booming. There is a ton of money in circulation throughout all venues of commerce. Wouldn't it just make sense to draw from what is already there rather than to take money from people who need it to live. Leave money in their pockets which they will in turn spend which will in turn pay the federal government and it's all under their control. What a concept.

Watch this space for some comments on Capital gains. Don't even get me started!!!
