Awesome, Just Awesome!Jan 31 '00 Write an essay on this topic.I have been filing my taxes electronically since 1997. I just love it! I decided in '97 to buy Mac-In-Tax to do my taxes for me. I was working and had my own business as well at the time. I din't want to spend the extra money to have someone prepare my taxes, but didn't want to get audited and I wanted of course the maximum deductions I could have. So I went that way. After completing the tax interviews the software compiled my return for me. I was then given the option of filing electronically or printing and mailing my return, so I decided to give the e-filing a shot. All you need to do this is a computer, your tax program, a modem and a credit card. The return was filed via my modem straight to the IRS. I received a confirmation that it had been received and was given an 800# to phone to check on the status. You will usually need a credit card, the charge for me to file is usually around $25. No problem. The IRS has always deposited my return via direct deposit and since i've been filing electronically i've never had any problems and never has it taken longer than 2 1/2 weeks to have my return in my hand! I love it!  |
