Perhaps a Cup-O-Joe for my business?

To be an adult in this world, there is no way around having a checking account. There is naturally a fee for this service.
To use a Cash card in this world, whether it be for cash at an ATM, or using it as a debit card for purchases, my bank has always collected a fee for more than 10 transactions. This is something else we have come to grips with. We use the card a lot. Always have. My husband travels and needs the card for last minute purchases. I just find it easier than writing checks.
I think it was about a year ago that a few local banks starting collecting fee's for using their ATM. Then they all started. Here in NY I have seen fee's from $1.50 to $3.50. They say the fee is to maintain and keep up the machines. That is a bunch of bull! What were they doing before these new found fees? They are already getting paid their fee! My bank charges me to pay them!
If I had only $20.36 in my account and I needed it, I couldn't have it. My own money. I need $21.50 to get my $20.00.
At a bare minimum, on the average, the machines around here get 30 transactions daily. That is $45.00 a day!! If that money went to charity, I don't think any one would care....but it is coming out of my empty pocket and going directly into the growing bank pocket.
Their so called 'maintenance' is also a bunch of malarkey. You go to a machine, and half the time it is out of order, out of money, or it eats your card. Then there is the clutter of receipts and garbage crowding the floor. I've seen cigarette butts put out right on the machine. I guess this was someone who only had the $20.00 in their account.
Maybe if they served a cup of coffee, then I wouldn't complain, but in the meantime...I'm not a happy camper.
