My wife and I purchased a house two years ago and the mortgage company we went through sold our loan to Source One. We were constantly on time with our mortgage payments but they lost one. We sent them copies of our Cashiers check (that's how we always pay our mortgage this way) but they refused to update our account. They called us at least once every two days to try to get this resolved (gee...I thought we already did that). They charged us late fees every month because of their mix-up.
We finally decided to refinance our home just to get away from Source One. Not only were they giving us problems with our payment, but every person we talked to in customer service was very rude and unhelpful. When we refinanced, we got a lower interest rate and a new mortgage company. We were finally going to get free from Source One. Well...BIG SURPRISE...we got a letter in the mail from Source One saying they had again bought our loan. For the past year, they have given us the same problems that they did before...except this time, they lost two of our payments and are now "holding" any payments after that. Since they are "holding" our payments, we are now showing 8 months past due on our home mortgage and are in danger of losing our home.
It seems that we have finally found a place that will refinance us again and they have said they have dealt with other people that had the SAME PROBLEMS with Source One that we did.
I just hope that they don't sell our loan to Source One again.
