It's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I have both a checking and savings account.
I recently went on a trip to Arkansas, a 12 hour drive from here in Iowa. This wasn't the problem, the problem was my cash card.
First of all, the first time I tried to use my card in Arkansas it told me I had the wrong pin number. I tried again thinking I punched a wrong number somehow. Nope! That didn't work. I thought for a minute and tried it again. Nothing, it still said I had the wrong pin number.
I decided that maybe the ATM machine wasn't working, afterall, this wasn't the first time I used my card.
I went to another bank and tried another machine, this time it took my card and told me to contact my bank as soon as possible.
Isn't this rediculous? I am out of town and now I do not have my cash card!
I call my bank the next morning and tell them what happened. They order me another card. No Problem.
A friend went with me to Arkansas and she used her ATM card several times.
We get back home, check our online banking, and much to my surprise $51.50 was taken from my account. Money I never received. I call my bank once again and tell them about this. They deposit $50.00 dollars back into my account but charge me $1.50.
The bank charged me $1.50 for using the ATM, whether I got any money or not.
To add on top of that, my friend checks her account, and finds out that every time she took money out of her account with her card, she was charged $1.50 by the bank that owned the ATM machine PLUS another $1.50 by her bank!
She used an ATM three times while out of town and was charged $9.00. Isn't this outrageous?
All I have to say is, "If I'da knew it!!"
