Like most people retired the question of where to go and what to buy was a pressing issue. A large house was out of the question and condo or apartment living was not for me. So I began looking into the Active Adult Communities that have been springing up in many states. In NJ there are many of them so I started my shopping on the net to find out who built theses houses and where they were. I visited a few and the one I chose was a K.Hovanian one in Columbus, NJ. My choice was a ranch with 2 bedrooms, family room and a den. It's just beautiful and I'm having the time of my life picking out all the options I want to make this a perfect home. In addition to a beautiful home on property 55 x 65 there is a beautiful Club House with all activities from an indoor to an outdoor swimming pool. No more grass to cut or snow to shovel - that is all taken care of for you. The people at K. Hovanian are more than helpful and I found them to be honest and caring. The price I paid for this house was less than if I was to buy a single family home; not to mention the gardeners and snow shovelers I would have to engage. Of course you have to be 55 years of age or over so this type of home is geared to those in that age bracket. What a wonderful idea this company came up with. Friendly neighbors all around the same age, beautiful single family detached homes and all the activities you could possibly want. I would not hesitate to recommend this type of living and this company to all of you who are looking to buy in an Active Adult Community.  |
