Pros:Articles are a great resource
Cons:Site is plain

The articles in CBS marketwatch are excellent. Their summaries are often included on the Yahoo!Finance site for stocks' daily news. I frequent the site only through links, which is often. The construction of the site is well-organized with not much clutter that is seen in the bloomberg.com site.

The viewing for the site is perfect for 800x600 pixels for viewing area. At a higher viewable area say 1024x768 pixels, there is much white space that is unnecessary. I like the front page of Marketwatch. There always interesting articles, not merely on corporation news specifically but on a more macro scale. Government and fiscal news is often reported. In fact, today's front page highlights Clinton's new budget plans.

The news is never stale here. It is updated frequently. At the end of each well-researched and news summary there are print options that print the article in a printer friendly format. A similar option allows the viewer to forward the articles to people via email.

One problem I find with the site is in the home page. Today, the page reported in perhaps a 16 font, "Stocks Rally in Volatile Day". This is not necessarily such a dramatic news headline. But for the site to place it in such a large font directly on the page is totally excessive. It sensationalizes the news and makes the content that much less news trustworthy. I mean, when does the Wall Street Journal place huge headlines. I actually read this, I believe twice: an instance is when the Dow Industrial Average surpassed the 10,000 dollar mark.

The site's stock research is great. It is nicely organized and a great resource for research.

Many features exist within the site: The Active Trader New!
Latest SEC filings, Hot Stock Tracker,Fund Profiles, Free Fund Prospectuses New!, Insider trading reports, Earnings calendar & news, Broker Research, Free Annual Reports New!, Stock Screener, Track your own portfolios, Data, Option Quotes, Research alerts, International Indexes, Stock split announcements, Dollar-volume leaders, S&P stock futures, After-hours S&P futures, Stock buybacks,Spotlight stock screens, Industry indexes: Components, 52 week highs and lows, Calendar of the day's events, Stock analysts' ratings, Conference call replays New!, Conference call calendar New!

The front page lists categorized sections ranging in
Front Page • Market Data • Portfolios • Mutual Funds • Personal Finance • Discussion. The strongest aspect of the site after the articles is its simplicity and its categorization. The articles are presented in a timely fashion with much refreshing. Overall, it presents news like USA today. Where bloomberg would be the unsensationalized WSJ, I would say Marketwatch is similar to the media, commercialized USA today.
