| dianakalt's Full Review: Motley Fool Message Boards |
I have been reading and posting to message boards on various web-sites for several years, and I enjoy the Motley Fool message boards the most by far. Although it is not the PERFECT community, I have seen very little flaming and rudeness in the 10 months since I began reading and posting to the boards. Most everyone is very supportive and forthcoming with advice and opinions, and the people who post are also quite entertaining.
The boards I read the most often are the Budgeting, Credit Card, and Living Below your means boards. I also review the Fools and Their money board frequently, and look at various stock boards from time to time. Some of the boards have extremely high volume, making it difficult to read all the posts, but you can easily switch back and forth from threaded to unthreaded mode if you don't want to read all the posts.
I like the user interface of the message boards a lot. I find them easy to navigate--much easier than many other sites I've visited. Additionally, most boards have a FAQ section right at the top so new site visitors can review topics before posting.
Finally, one thing I really like is that the Motley fool has numerous non-financial related boards in addition to the finance related ones. Any registered member can request their own board in the Speaker's Corner, and some of them are very interesting to read. I really enjoy it, because if you want to get to know more about another member, you can go to their own personal board instead of cluttering up, for instance, the Intel board with OT posts.
