This was the first financial website I'd ever used and one of the best. It is a feature filled financial supersite that is always up to date. Smartmoney has three main strengths; 1. Constantly updated relevant information 2. A wide range of investment topics and resources for investors from beginner to advanced 3. Free, extensive tools that can be personalized.
First, the updated, relevant information. The are numerous financial supersites on the internet so what separates Smartmoney from the crow. Well, like most supersites it has a wealth of information and it updates its information fairly frequently. Unlike most sites however almost all the information on Smartmoney.com is relevant to general investors.
Secondly, Smartmoney.com covers a broad range of topics and has information for both new and seasoned investors. So, you're a new investor head to Smartmoney University from Smartmoney.com for articles on all types of investment and saving and retirement advice. Smartmoney University also provides articles for advanced investors and covers different investing techniques. Smartmoney.com unlike many other sites does not limit itself to one topic of investing technique.
Third, Smartmoney.com has extensive free tools that can be personalized. These tools range from a portfolio to a map of a market. Some of these tools are unique to Smartmoney.com such as the Map of the Market while others such as the portfolio are offered on many sites. This tools wether unique or not are all well thought out and fairly easy to use. This is one of the stronger points of Smartmoney.com
To sum it up Smartmoney is an excellent web site with few if any flaws. Although it lack the humor or wit of the Motley Fool (www.fool.com) Smartmoney.com offers straightforward, sound investing advice. I recommend site to all investors.
