Microsoft has built a pretty standard financial portal in
Money Central. The resources available on the site have
significant depth, however, its seems that none of it is
really proprietary. Whoever thought Microsoft would be
innovative anyhow. It seems like the standard offering
from Infospace, plus a little bit of Dalbar info. So,
basically they partnered out most of the information on
the site, which is fine by me. It just seems that if you
are going on the web for financial information you are
probably better off with Yahoo Finance. Its
worth checking out the site just so you can make a comparison for yourself. Microsoft will try to dominate this area of the web, but is Microsoft really a good internet company? Too develop the content it seems some more innovation is necessary.
