| botcher's Full Review: Motley Fool |
As an investor, I've always been turned off by the big money websites which always seem to pander to the top 2% in income. I don't ever want to own a BMW and the idea of living in a snobby enclave turns me green with disgust. I am perfectly happy with my modest home in a reasonably nice suburban neighborhood, taking mass transit to work and my dorky minivan. So when I read the Motley Fool and peruse its wisdom on financial savviness for the literal Everyman, I appreciate its foolishness. I listen carefully to its clever twists on themes of prudence and carefulness. Its wisdom is born out by studies of how millionaires are made -- not by high income jobs but by frugality and careful planning. I aspire to be a better investor by saving more, being more adroit with limited resources and by taking tips and ideas from writers with a Main Street view, not necessarily one from Wall Street.
There is good, sound analysis here as well for the serious investor without all the pompous nonsense or cluttered web pages so many websites purport. The Fool takes an often irreverent view of things, lacing its website with points of interest and humor. But it all works. This is a website I could stay on for hours and have done so when possible. Their daily Fool Watch email is very insightful, enjoyable and better reading than my local newspaper. I glean a great deal of information from the Fool and use it religiously to optimize my savings, debt control and retirement planning.
The great advantage the Motley Fool offers to most users is a diversity of resources, forums, factoids, research tools and statistics alongside commentary and news items that keep you abreast of trends and tricks in todays economy. So go to the Fool and bookmark that site right now. I promise you that it is definitely worth your time. I'd suggest getting something to drink and sit down to pull out some valuable pearls of wisdom from the most foolish of all websites.
