Pros: K C Munchkin was fun for it's time, cool retro look Cons: A little too lo-tech for most to enjoy, even diehards
Summary: I guess its a law here in the States, but every summer your folks have to ship you away from home somewhere for a week so they can regain some semblance of sanity. Most of my friends either went off to camp, or to spend time with a divorced ... read more

Pros: It Is A Very Unique Video Game System! Even Today! Cons: What Could Have Been! It Could Have Been Marketed A Little Better!
Summary: Reading these other reviews I think you get the idea that the Odyssey 2 is a unique system, has a keyboard, has good joysticks, and has some cool games. Let's take a different approach to looking at this legendary paradox of a video game system. ... read more

Pros: A keyboard used for a wide variety of things. The Challenger Series and Imagic games. Cons: Some of the sports games did not offer a computer opponent.
Summary: This is an above average computer video game system. It has, unlike any other, a keyboard that is used for a wide variety of things, like choosing game options, selecting skill levels, starting game sequences, programming mazes, entering name or ... read more

Pros: A Keyboard, Good Joysticks, Good Quality, and Challenging Games. Cons: Limited Marketing and Distribution by its Parent Company.
Summary: INTRO:
The Magnavox Odyssey 2 was in production from 1978 to 1983. Between 78 and 80 it was arguably the best system to own and possibly the best selling. In early 1980, however, a few things happened: Atari decided to license out Space ... read more

Pros: Smooth joysticks, a keyboard, and crisp/clear animated graphics. Cons: A small few games were short changed on the programming side.
Summary: There has not been and never will be a computer video games system like this again. It is the bleepingest, bloopingest, boomingest, robotic voicingest, and coolest system ever to come out of the late 70's and early 80's. It is truly unique!

Pros: Inexpensive to collect. Very good joysticks and some original games. Solid console. Cons: Hardwired joysticks.
Summary: Easy system I think to collect because there are no 3rd party titles that I know of and most titles sold 300,000 to over a million units.
Some elaborate combo board/video games for the system, I am waiting on Quest for the Rings, I very ... read more

Pros: Good Quality, Durability, and Longevity Cons: A few "Two Player" games should have been "One or Two Player" games.
Summary: Before I start with the review I would suggest that if you want to get one of these off of ebay you might want to search under the "Video Games" category. Search for Odyssey or Odyssey 2 (Space between the Odyssey and the 2). You can also search Odyssey ... read more

Pros: If you have the Voice adapter you can hear real digital audio. Cons: Some cheap clones of Atari 2600games like Alien Invaders Plus.
Summary: ODYSSEY 2 (1978-1993) This is the official sequel to the original Odyssey (the first real video game system ever), here is Magnavox's Odyssey 2! Unfortunately, this poor man's Atari 2600 featured a new build in keyboard to play some more ... read more

Pros: "The Voice" is a cool hardware add-on; decent game library Cons: Third party support? Hah! Keyboard not used that often. Poor graphics.
Summary: The Magnavox Odyssey 2 isn't the best of the console video games systems from the 1970's. It's technologically inferior to the Intellivision, Bally Astrocade and even the Atari 2600. Any of those three systems beat the Odyssey 2 hands down -- they all ... read more

Pros: May be worth money in future, 70's technology at its best Cons: Rare to find, expensive to purchase through ebay
Summary: In the mid 1970's, Magnavox came out with a video console called the Odyssey and I can say that I was part of one those families that enjoyed the "latest" technology of that particular time period.
It is called the Odyssey. It was ... read more

Pros: very good original games Cons: boring graphics, and some really bad games
Summary: Yay! Odyssey 2! An affordable keyboard? Great! What do I do with this keyboard? Well, not much.
This system was to compete with Atari and Intellivision, and I was one of the few to have it.
You must really love gameplay over graphics, ... read more

Pros: Simple, clean fun Cons: Simple graphics
Summary: I remember being just a 5-year old boy who thought he was the king of the world because he was able to play video games in the comfort of his own living room. Odyssey made that possible. All of my friends had the more high-tech Ataris and ... read more

Pros: Cool keyboard idea and some of the games were cool too. Cons: Most games did not take advantage of the keyboard.
Summary: The Odyssey2 is the first game system I remember. I do not know when my parents got it but I do remember playing games on it. They had some educational games which I vaigly remember and some funner arcade type games. One of them was a race car game and ... read more

Pros: The voice module; a few games aren't too bad; the keyboard idea is nifty Cons: Has worse graphics, sound and speed than the Atari 2600.
Summary: Well, here's an opinions that's sure to annoy those that love the Odyssey2. I love the fact that there is a section here on Epinions now where I can ramble on and on about "classic" console games. While my memories of the Odyssey2 are fond, I'm no longer ... read more

Pros: Great Games Cons: Bad Graphics
Summary: What happened to the graphics? I recently took a trip down the old gaming graveyard. The Magnavox Odyssey2 was what I came up with. Actually I didn’t really come up with it I more tripped over it. Wandering through my parents attic I came across a ... read more
