Pros: Large library of games. "Arcade True" ports. Two Media Types accepted. "Region Free" console. Cons: Ahead of its time in many ways. Hard to find now. Limited Controller.
Summary: Sega has always been a leader in Arcade games and every arcade you walked into, you always saw a row of Sega machines. From pinball machines to stand-up video games, Sega was in the front of the competition. But when it came to home consoles, Sega never ... read more

Pros: Possibly the best 8 bit video game console system ever made. Cons: May be difficult to find parts and games for it in North America.
Summary: The Sega Master System is often overlooked as an important element in the history of video game consoles. It arrived at a time when 8 bit systems were nearing the end of their life, as the home computer industry was seeing a lot of 16 bit offerings. ... read more

Pros: Great design, great Sega games, better graphics, huge potential! Cons: It didn't dominate NES.
Summary: Most any NES owner will not admit that NES was just boring. Alright, alright, I'll always love the Mario games. But the facts are there. Over 700 NES games (!!!) and only a handful I can remember a thing about. Let's turn away from the tired old ... read more

Pros: Actually stronger than the 8-bit NES.
Some units have built in games. Cons: Awful sound.
There isn't as much games as the NES.
Summary: Here's a Sega Master System review; a underrated and misunderstood gaming system. In 1986, I saw some really awesome arcade games at the time. Games like Space Harrier and Out Run really blew me away back then with their amazing 3D ... read more

Pros: Greatest 8-bit system of the late 80's Cons: It's hard to come across the items you want.
Summary: The Sega Master System is a great example of what any game system should be based on (A following of millions).

Pros: Great games, excellent 3-D system. Cons: Flimsy controllers, didn't last too long in the game wars against Nintendo.
Summary: Reflection: In the summer of 1988, my older sister and I wanted our parents to procure a new video game system because we wanted to play "harder and more challenging games." Although my choice was the Nintendo Entertainment System, my sister ... read more

Pros: "built-in game" idea is great, easy to use, cool controls, cool design Cons: Graphics could have been as great as the NES graphics, but they weren't
Summary: Okay, Mario would win. But the Sega Master System was really cool anyway. I wasn't really into videogames as a kid, because we had a Macintosh+ that I played my games on all the time, but now, 13 years later, I've realized that computers can't be ... read more

Pros: good games, 3D glasses, better hardware Cons: less games, less buttons on controller
Summary: Sega Master System (SMS) was Sega's entrance to the video game market. While not very successful in US, it had it's good times in Europe. One of the most interesting peripherals were the 3D glasses vhich, sadly, I can't utilize because of my SMS 2 model, ... read more

Pros: Easy loadup, Abundance of Games Cons: Outdated, Not Easy to Access one in 2000
Summary: Although this system had some of the worst graphics and game play, it was more enjoyable to play and less tedious than actual Nintendo. Starting up games was always a breeze and I never had trouble loading games or using the blowing techniques that I ... read more

Pros: Revolutionary technology for its time Cons: Focused their games in the wrong direction
Summary: As in David vs. Goliath.
