What a great game … for an arcadein 1994

by ericgreene , Dec 10 '00
Pros: Brings back fond memories.
Cons: Not a good game for a home system.
There was one game at the bowling lanes that was never free. The NEO-GEO wrestling was never in use; the NHL 1993 playoff pinball game was gathering dust, but the Cruise n’ USA car racing game had a line as far as the eye could see for a chance to play...

Makes a Good Rental

by marty1982 , Jul 25 '01
Pros: Very arcade-like, good graphics, fun for a while
Cons: Not much depth, a little repetitive, weak two player mode.
Regardless of what some may have told you, Cruis'n USA really isn't that terrible. Sure it's no Gran Turismo or San Francisco Rush, but it's not as bad as some may have led you to believe it is.

The first thing I noticed when playing Cruis'n...

Crusin USA: A cute racer

by rbrad , Oct 26 '00
Pros: Fun to play, good for beginners perhaps.
Cons: Levels can be a little bit unchallenging, too few cars to choose from.
Cute really does describe this game. Long straightaway courses with few sharp turns, wacky locales (driving through the grand canyon? Isn't there a river down there instead of a highway?), and cartoon indestructible cars make this game a cute (have I...

Car crashin fun

by azreal , Jan 14 '00
Pros: Good control, good graphics
Cons: not much replay value, not too many tracks
Cruisin USA was one of the first N64 racing games to come out. Considering when it came out it was pretty impressive. But now, its not so great.

There are 4 main cars to choose from with four hidden cars to be unlocked. There are also a couple...

Cruisin for fun

by dde3164 , Mar 16 '00
Pros: Cool and fun
Cons: None
Cruis 'N USA is the very first game I bought for Nintendo 64 and it is one of the best I have paid for. This game is very old and I admit the graphics aren't the greatest, but this doesn't take away the fun factor. Me and my friends would play this...

Help! my tailpipe's on fire

by killaX , Jun 29 '00
Pros: car upgrades
Cons: Stop catching up to me!
This is not the worst game ever made. In fact, as far as raacing games go I think this is one of the top contenders.

The Plot:Ok, so there's not a lot to look at here. You get your car, race it across america. Wham, bamb, thank you...

I've seen much better racing games

by Blister , Feb 13 '00
Pros: Tons of interesting levels
Cons: Bad graphics, bad sound, bad variety of cars
One of N64's first racing games is a big disappointment. This game is nothing compared to other games. The graphics have horrible pop-ups in the background. You can't tell if that little red dot that just popped up is a car, object or fellow racer. The...

Good for younger kids

by John_2000 , Jun 10 '00
Pros: Not bad graphics and easy controls
Cons: Not enough cars and the game is way to easy
Cruisin the USA was one of the first car racing games to come out and it was not all that bad at the time but it lacks compared to the newer racers.

Gameplay
I think the game is directed to younger kids because the controls are...

WORTHWHILE

by topopat , Jan 12 '00
Pros: Good control
Cons: limits to driving
I thought that this game was terrific. I mean, some car games just don't cut it, but this one is awsome because of the graphics and the music!! I like the way that you can change the soundtrack while you are driving. One minute I was litening to...

One of the N64 launch titles unworthy to your wallet

by NMD85 , Oct 26 '00
Pros: Nice Ferrari....er... Italia P9
Cons: Drugery driving game ported awfully
Midway and Nintendo's smash arcade hit, Cruis'n USA hits the N64 on launch dated and unimpressive. For N64's birth, the system has a bunch of passable games that were very expensive. Choosing the right one was not easy considering in those days you had...

Cruis 'N USA

by nickman7556 , Mar 11 '00
Pros: It has some really cool cars
Cons: It gets old pretty fast
Cruis 'N USA is a cool game. I have this game and used to play it all the time. This is another one of those racing games that are too easy. I beat the game the day that I got it. It seriously does not take long to beat. But they have some pretty...

Still fun, but still lacking

by groharlem , Jul 06 '00
Pros: Fun to play, good framerate
Cons: Graphics, Sound, Music is annoying, replay value
Crusin' USA is not all that bad a game. It has 13 tracks, all of which are stretches of road, and 7 different cars. The game is not at all realistic but just fun to play. The control is very responsive. Playing with 2 players is a must. The graphics...

Fun But Really Annoying

by dmets86 , Jan 28 '00
Pros: Fun for a while
Cons: totally cheesey obsticles become a real pain in the a$$
Cruisin' USA was my first game on N64 and it isn't even close to the best but its still a lot of fun. cruising through all those odd boards and crazy tunnels is great for adrenalin feeks and the "girls" in the bikini's at the end of each board...

Good Driving

by kobeguy68 , Jan 28 '00
Pros: sensitive, but not too sensitive handling, fast cars, good tracks
Cons: hard to beat, a few hard levels
This is an awesome game. The graphics are awesome. The steering is sensitive but not too sensitive like Gran Turismo. This game takes a while to beat but you will have fun trying to beat it. Every time you beat all the levels with one car it upgrades...

Cruis'n USA: A slightly good Cruis'n Experience

by wicked_souls , Mar 26 '00
Pros: Nice gameplay and replay value, barrels
Cons: Pretty stupid music, too many pixel screens
One day, I went to the bowling alley. When I walked into the arcade, I saw a machine. Much like the driver's seat of a car. It was a game called Cruis'n USA. So, I decided to get some tokens and play it. It wasn't the BEST cruise I'd ever taken, but it...
