Pros: Amazing backgrounds, lots of puzzles, engrossing.
Cons: Zero replay value, repetitive music, horrid character animation. Can be beat in under 3 hours. Too easy or too hard.

Summary: "Oy vey" about sums up this game. The backgrounds are great, but the characters are extremely ugly. The puzzles can be fun or exciting, but they're usually either too easy or far too long and drawn out. There is NO replay value, but you should ... read more

Pros: Slamming-smash of a superior series
Cons: Aside from the average N64 graphics, nothing.

Summary: It's hard to sum up enough words to fully describe this game. OK, now I love Shadowgate, and I DEFINITELY love this one. I do feel, however, that with 64 bit graphics, Nintendo could have given it a better "graphic" reception than the average 3-D ... read more

Pros: interesting, easy to use, good movement.
Cons: Not high in the action category.

Summary: This game is not for lovers of action. This game is for people who love puzzles and logic problems. When I rented this game, I wasn't sure what to expect. But being a person who loves both action and puzzles, I was sure that it would have something I ... read more

  • The original is better...

Pros: Shades of the original Shadowgate for the NES
Cons: Blurred graphics, not as scary as the original, a renter

Summary: While not so patiently awaiting something remotely resembling a role playing game being released for the Nintendo 64, I was ecstatic when Shadowgate 64 appeared in stores. I thought back to the days of my childhood, staying up all hours of the ... read more

  • Why was this game made?

    Pros: good graphics
    Cons: boring, think plot

Summary: I found this game to be VERY boring. First, you need a memory pak to save any part of the game. Even to just not have to see the intro each time you play. I know this might be my fault for not owning one, but it was still annoying. Second, the controls ... read more

Pros: Better Graphics, Better Game Play, Longer Games
    Cons: Cost of games

Summary: I couldn't find a catagory to write about the actual Nintendo 64 System itself. But I wanted to write and let people know that this system is worth every bit of the money spent on it. Of course when I got mine, it was when they cost almost $200. I ... read more

Pros: Nicely put together game. Easy controls with spectacular graphics and great sound.
Cons: If you don't have patience don't get this. Also this game is really more of a treat for those who played the original.

Summary: I remember playing the first Shadowgate on my old Nintendo. One of my favorites and still is. Upon hearing the guys at Kemco where reuniting to create yet another Shadowgate I highly anticipated it. Though not as good as the first (of course) the game ... read more

Pros: Nice Idea, Makes You Think at Times
    Cons: Too Simple, Bad Graphics,

Summary: I bought Shadowgate for the N64 because the first Shadowgate was one of my favorite games for the regular NES. The idea behind it was great. What you had to do was use your mind for once not just your thumbs. The Shadowgate was almost like a choose ... read more

  • Trials of Four Towers, or trial of patience?

    Pros: Music track
    Cons: Everything else.

Summary: This game is simply pathetic. It lacks interaction. If you like lonely games where you walk around by yourself and solve some small variety of puzzles, then give it a try. The music is pretty good, but that is about all the games has to it. Music and ... read more

  • Good, but could be better

    Pros: Good story, mentally challenging
Cons: Can be boring, and most of the challenge is in searching

Summary: This was the first game that I played on N64. It was nice, but I prefer games where you do something besides run around searching for stuff. I mean, how much fun can you have if what you spend the most time doing is poring over every wall, floor, ... read more

Pros: Excellent graphics, some parts very interesting
Cons: Slow plot line, very confusing

Summary: The other day I was in Wal-Mart and I had taken the day off from work. I decided to buy a new game. I picked out Shadowgate 64 and was pretty excited to go home and play it. I put it in my 64 and was prepared for hours of fun, man was I disapointed. ... read more
