| JellybeanChic's Full Review: Dead Or Alive for PlayStation 1 |
My younger brother recently bought a Sony PlayStation, which I thought was pretty cool. So I gave him a couple of new games, and one of these was "Dead or Alive." This is the only one that I wish I hadn't given him.
The object of the game is pretty simple: beat up your opponent. (It's a martial arts-type game, hand-to-hand combat.) Well, that was ok - at least it didn't have guns and blood and gore. But then I decided to play against him, and naturally I picked a female character. Was I in for a surprise!
The players have some pretty sweet moves: all kinds of kicks, several different punches, jumps, drops, etc. But my goodness...! My character hopped back to the "ready" position after she beat the other, and her breasts dropped to her knees and then sailed above her ears before bouncing back into place. And this girl had to have serious athletic prowess if she could fight like that with triple-D cups.
I couldn't believe it. My brother is 10 years old - I don't want him seeing stuff like this. He's still playing with Legos and Pokemon. Sure, it's great that the chics are competitive, but don't stereotype them. They really do not need to look like that. It takes away from the game's good points.
