SkullLeader's Full Review: Quake II for Nintendo 64
My younger cousin bought this game, and I decided to try it because I own the PC version of Quake 2. I went in with low expectations because i know the difference between a PC and the lowly N64. All of my low expectations were only slightly exceeded, Except in multiplayer! The graphics are beautiful but suffer from low framerates throughout the entire game. The level design was well thought out although they may be a little too easy to navigate, especially compared to the computer versions large almost confusing levels. All of your favorite weapons are there, although, I wish the chaingun and laserchaingun's firing rate was increased to help with straffing. My major problem with this game is the enemy A.I. (artiicial- intelligence) They are probably the dumbest characters ever seen in a game, basically you have to play it on hard for a real challenge. Where this game really stands out is multiplayer, great level design, combined with fast slick split screen make this easily a great reason to buy this game.
