The general opinion about this game is that it's good. The board game is practically a classic. But I found that the video game version lacking in too many aspects. First, it's very controlled. My friends and I couldn't make deals the way we wanted to. Secondly, the controller and the commands...you have to constantly press the A button to continue (this much I understand) but when someone jumps in with a deal/offer, you could very easily press the A button and agree to the offer. There is no confirmation message to ask you whether you really agree to the offer made or not. I made this error several times. Thirdly, you get tired of watching the little guys running around on the screen/board.
I played with the computer twice and found the game to be more frustrating than enjoyable. At first I believed that I was just very unlucky. Later, it seemed to me that no one could be that unlucky. The computer landed on Free Parking 12 times in one game. In that same game, I landed on Free Parking 3 times and one of those three times, there was nothing in the pot. Very unfair. I landed on at least one of his properties each time around the board (the average is about 2) but he manages to go around several times without ever landing on one of my properties. The computer was on normal setting; I'm scared to see what the intelligent setting will do.
I hate this video game with a passion.
