Zeus is the newest installment in the renowned city-building games created by Impressions Games and Sierra. Starting early on with the Ceasars and followed by Pharoah, the historical cities could not be complete without including the grand realm of Greece. However, this time the game is more fictionaly oriented than the others. Though you had the ability to call upon the gods for help in the other games, this time you have the ability to call them over for a walk about your city. There are also terrors beyond the simple threat of invading nieghbors. Now you must build your mythical power up to defeat invading monsters, dragons, and worst of all the gods themselves.
Gameplay-wise this game is fairly close to Pharaoh. There are a few new features. There are more ways to farm, new industries, and different importing methods. However, many of the buildings you will use seem to be simply Pharaoh's buildings with a makeover.
The city building has changed greatly though, don't get me wrong. When I opened this game I instantly went into it, thinking I would fair well having been a Pharaoh addict since the beginning. I did not. If you are a veteran, then you may have some advantage, but I highly recommend the tutorial.
Of course, the interface has been improved. You can access all the information you need while viewing your city, no more advisors to go visit.
Overall this is a definite improvement over the last game, but if you got wornout on Pharaoh, and are simply tired of that building style. Don't buy this, it will do you no good.
