Let me start off by saying that I was addicted to this game not long ago, before I discovered Epinions. My husband and I spent endless hours playing this game.
~~~OBJECT~~~
The object of the game is to be the first player with the highest final score. The way to do this is by interlocking words on the board using letter tiles of varying values. Each player has a turn to try to come up with a word that uses up the most tiles for the highest value. Each player begins with 7 tiles. With these 7 tiles each player composes a word based on the previous words already formed on the board. The wording can be across or down. Depending on how many tiles each player uses, that is how many tiles they must draw from the letters that remain. Each player has the option of challenging his or her opponent. Also, each player has the option of exchanging some or all of his or her tiles if they feel that they cannot compose a word. The game comes to an end with there are no more tiles remaining. At this point all points must be tallied and the winner is announced
~~~THE GAMEPLAY SCREEN~~~
There are many options when playing this game:
Take Back- This option allows you to remove tiles that you have placed on the board. This is very handy, if you have made an error, or simply changed your mind.
Shuffle- This option allows you to shuffle your tiles. This can be very useful when you are drawing blank.
Exchange- This option allows you to exchange one or all tiles.
Game Menu- This option allows you to open to game menu window, which in turn gives you many possibilities to save, load, or start a game.
Pass- This option allows you to pass your turn.
Define Last- This option allows you to find out what the word means. I find this very useful. I have learned some new words, especially when I have played against the computer.
Hint- This option helps you when you are really stuck. It gives you a hint as to where the next word is. Don’t tell my husband, but I have used this often, without him knowing.
Pause- Self-explanatory
Rack- This helps you sort out your tiles in different ways.
Info- This option tells you about the game on hand, and allows you to view other options.
The cost of this game is between 25$-30$. It is well worth the money. If you decide to play modem to modem or over a network or the Internet, it provides hours and hours of fun.
