chriskooima's Full Review: Hydro Thunder for Nintendo 64
This game meets the standards. It has all the familiar tracks- Thunder Park, Lost Island, and all the rest are back. The same goes for the speed-happy boats like Razorback, Tidal Blade, and Thresher. Even The bonus tracks and boats. Plus, multi-player competition will take place in 2-4 player modes.
The arcade look and feel were well preserved on the 64. Minus the seat and wheel, of course. The hotrodding boats roar past opponents while picking up boosts for extra speed and jumping one hundred foot gorges into water!! Whew!!!
The graphics need some tweaking but are overall good. The sound tends to hesitate every now and then. But, overall, it is no cheesy arcade imitaion. N64 owners shouldn't feel ripped-off.
