Against my own wishes, I did not receive this game until this past Christmas, but once I got my hands on it, I couldn't stop playing. The attention to graphics detail, gameplay, sounds, etc. is really good, and I would say top any other N64 game that I own.
It seems that sometimes the controls can get a little confusing, but once you play it for awhile, that confusion kind of drifts away, and you get it all figured out. You can assign all of the different weapons you receive to different 'C' buttons on your control pad, which makes keeping them organized quite simple.
Along the way, you'll find that many of the monsters or friends will just flat out talk to you. This provides a great way to get information about what you need to do next and where to go. It also keeps you on your feet!
Like I said before, the attention to graphic detail is amazing. There was a lot of work put into this area of the game. You can see great looking ponds, waterfalls, forests, villages, and all of the monsters.
In conclusion, this game is a really good investment I think. You need to really be into RPG games though, and have some patience. Happy gaming!
