| Cursy's Full Review: NHL Faceoff 2000 for PlayStation 1 |
Well I own 99 and do not really like it, because it is pretty hard so score. Well I rented 2000 expecting it to be a little better. It wasn't.
Well you can play season and playoffs in this, the game has all the teams from that season the Thrashers included, no Jackets or Wild yet. You can create yourself in this game which is a plus, you can either be a goalie defencemen or forward.
This game has awesome hits, the hits in this game are better then any hockey game hits out there. The hip checks look so deadly. That is something I really liked about the game. The game is very fast paced and if seems you can't really slow it down. Unlike in NHL 2000 where you could chill behind the net, and make your move.
Faceoff does not have career mode like NHL 2000 does, and that dissapointed me. I like games that have some sort of career mode because it just makes the games more interesting. You don't lose all the hard work you did.
You can go for the Stanley cup in this game, what I played of it I do not think there is an All-star game like there is in NHL 2000.
This game is a for sure rent, it would be a mistake to buy, because once you are done your first and only season what do you do next?
If you are looking for a game like this Faceoff 99 is pretty much the same, but if you are looking for a better hockey game go for NHL 2000. The game is alot better then this one.
The controls in this game are easy to learn and it shouldn't take you to long until you are knocking out teeth.
