Violent games are good for you!

Please spare me the liberal whining about how video games make kids violent. I think that games like Quake, etc. are great source of stress relief, you can do things on a computer that you could never do in real life and kids know that. I am a 80's kid and have played some form of video game most of my life and there's nothing better after a stressful day than blowing off some steam in a good deathmatch in Quake. It sure beats letting it out on the family or becoming an alcoholic!
Now, remember as with all new experiences, parents should discuss these games with their kids before letting them go crazy with them. There is no substitute for good parenting, no amount of legislation or banning of games will ever come close. Parents, it's time to stop blaming the game industry and clean-up your own house and pay attention to your kids. If you raise them right, no amount of gore-filled video games will turn them into serial killers.
