| Lord_Legacy's Full Review: Ogre Battle Limited Edition The March of the Black... |
I was a loyal Ogre battle fan when it was on SNES, i spent nights staring at the tv screen searching every square inch of a map to find a secret item or secret town, Once i beat the game i did it again for a new ending. The game was Flawless!! You start off by making armys of monsters or soldierrs, you put them into groups and move the groups around the map taking over castles and towns and dealing with the enemy, the battles are like the game Breath of Fire 3 for Psx, except you dont have any control over your creatures, once the battle starts they fight for themselves, you do however get to blast the enemy with Tarot Card Magic, such as the card Judgement would be a powerful attack spell. You obtain these by taking over towns. More castles and towns you take over the more you money you get the next day. Now for the bad news, that was the SNES Version. But luckily playstation kept all that in, just they added something.. LONG LOAD TIMES!! When you go into a battle you get a nice long load time, once the battle is over you get a nice long load time, And trust me this isnt fun considering you'll fight 1000's and 1000's of fights. Also it lacked some stuff the SNES version package gave you. Mainly a list of all the creatures and what they can turn into at later levels and a item list that tells about all the items, these 2 pieces of paper became my best friend when playing the original! But nonetheless i cant give the game a bad rating based on Lag times alone, everything from the original is there including some minor graphic changes and sound changes, but if you despise loading times in an RPG then i suggest you look elsewhere, Perhaps Tactics Ogre Battle.
