Mr.CoMMoNsEnsE's Full Review: NHL Breakaway '98 for Nintendo 64
This is a great game!!! There is a band that lives next door to me
and they've got all 4 controllers which is a necessity for this
game to be played at it's best. We go to Practice mode and
change the # of players to 3 so that there are 2 players on each
team and then the goalies. This makes the best competition you
can get. Create a name and it keeps record of your stats.
It's so very intense, it's just you and your teammate against 2
other guys, for some reason the girls never want to play, and
usually the goalies do a good job, sometimes they foul up pretty
good, like when a puck is slowly sliding toward the goal from the
other end of the floor and he just flat out misses.
We have been discussing the idea of trying to start a league of
some sort, there's about 8 or 10 of us that have almost perfected
our game. Breakaways are great and a necessary part of your
game if you want to win and then there's the ever so rewarding
one timers which takes team work and with only 2 players on the
ice you have to make sure you don't get burnt on the breakaway.
I would highly suggest this game to any house with a group of
hockey fans, but you must have all 4 controllers and try the
practice mode with 3 players. As we always say, when it's time
to play...GAME ON!!!!
I do apologize for any confusion caused by posting my message on the wrong game previously, but I went home last night and found I was right the 1st time. It is NHL Breakaway 98 that we always play.
