| roynyr's Full Review: CBS SportsLine Fantasy Football |
Football fanatics everywhere are waiting for September. And fantasy football fans are preparing for the draft. And deciding what stats service to use this year. Our fantasy football league has decided to go with the CBS SportsLine Fantasy Football Package to keep track of our statistics this year. In the past years of our league, we have calculated the statistics manually ( the early years ) and have also plugged them into Excel spreadsheets and generated the numbers ( the last two seasons ) but after doing a good bit of research over the past month we have come to the conclusion that we have to go with the CBS SportsLine Fantasy Football web site to help us with our league this season. There are a number of reasons why we believe this is the best fantasy football tool out there on the market today.
Check out these features!
First, and most important and interestingly, there is real time data and progress of games available. This is a great feature for fantasy football nuts. You can log on to your league's web site and check out the score of the game while the Sunday games are going on. This is a very cool feature. So I can be watching the game, log on to my game and see that I am beating my opponent by ten points and then call him up and let him know about it. A super feature! In the past, many of the fantasy football packages out there would only give you the stats on Tuesday after all the games were done but now with the CBS SportsLine Fantasy Football you get to it right away.
I also love the message board. There you can post anything about the league for all the owners or for any individual owner as well. You can talk " virtual smack " , post trade offers, or just comment on anything going on in the league. This is a great tool for the owners. On the owner page, you get contact information, including e-mail address for all your fellow owners. Another awesome way to keep in contact.
League headlines is another great aspect. Here your league commissioner can keep you up to date with the latest stats, update you with league draft information or meetings, and basically entertain the owners with good stories. It is almost like a internet newspaper of your league. Great stuff once again!
Links are available to outside web sites which will give you the latest injury reports, who is hot and who is cold, weather updates, and all of the latest NFL information.
It also gives you standings, schedules, free agents available, a transaction log, and even pre-draft advice. One really funny feature is the CommGuru. After you enter your teams for the week, the CommGuru will look at the rosters and try to predict the winners for the week. A computerized Jimmy the Greek! I have never seen in it action but it sounds outstanding.
Oh by the way, you must be wondering about the cost of this incredible system. Try $0.00! Why do I sound like Ron Popeil of infomercial fame?
Now granted, our league is using the CBS SportsLine Fantasy Football package for the first time this year but for what we have seen on the demos and what we have read on the site and what we expect to happen, it is going to be some fantasy football season. I can't wait for September!
