NickieLea's Full Review: The Legend Of Zelda Ocarina Of Time for Nintendo 6...
Well, well,well.......I took Zelda away from my four year old son three nights ago for misbehaving. You'd think Zelda would be a bit advanced for a 4 year old to understand, but it isn't. Not only does my son understand it, he loves it. These past couple of days have been rough for him.
Spare me the advice that Zelda is inappropriate for a 4 year old. I don't come to Epinions to learn parenting skills. I come here to offer my take on products and services. Anyway, back to Zelda.....
The Nintendo 64 game of Zelda offers the player a glimpse into the world of Link, the game's hero. Link is in search of rescuing Princess Zelda from Ganandorf. Forgive me if I don't quite master the spelling of all these strange names. I'm also writing this during a weird lull here in the emergency room. For once, unusual though it may be, we have NO patients. In case you haven't figured it out, Ganandorf is one bad dude. I believe that's one of the features my son finds so fascinating about playing Zelda, the definitive line between good guys and bad guys.
Our hero, Link, must travel Hyrule, learn new skills, gain new knowledge, make new friends, and gather a mini arsenal of daku nuts and bottles of milk to earn several gems. Once he's earned all of these gems, he can skip ahead and miss out on his teenage years. Yes, Link gets to skip puberty. What a novel idea!
Anyway, Link also gets to play an ocarina, an odd flutelike instrument that he uses for everything from summoning a horse to changing night to day. The songs are a bit much for my son to master, but he has his father do that part for him.
My son gets Zelda back today, if he behaves. Am I looking forward to it?? Not necessarily, but I did promise. Why did I choose tonight to write this opinion?? Who knows? Boredom? Fascination?? Maybe I thought it would be nice to add yet another opinion about Zelda to the 300 plus already out there. Lord only knows why we do this. Maybe some strange part of us enjoys having our opinions trashed by people who take out their frustrations on their lack of success or perhaps their lack of endeavors by clicking on "Not Recommended" for any opinion written by someone who didn't major in English?? Oh well, there I've done it now, stirred the pot, dredged up that black slimy filth, mucked at the deeper depths of humanity, practically invited them out to rip this apart. But, there's a brighter side to all of this, I, you, we, can always delete opinions trashed by the mean and ugly. Or, maybe, we can buy and try Zelda ourselves and forget everything else thrown into this opinions besides the fun of the game. Isn't this what fantasy and play are all about anyway??
