chanele21's Full Review: Mockba To Berlin for Windows
Hey Children!!
Well for all of you South Park fans out there, you know I'm not calling you children, but I'll tell you something....playing this game sure can bring out the kid in ya!!!!!
The Experience
Out of all of the South Park fans that I know personally, alot of us were very disappointed in the first South Park game released. I remember when I first heard that they were releasing the video game, I was going to be one of the first to buy it. I'm a big fan of the show and couldn't wait to find out what the game was going to be like.
I was living in Canada at the time and you could only get it for Nintendo 64. I didn't even know anyone with one. All of my gang had Playstations, then shortly after I found out it was on Playstation. Well that's all I needed to hear. That was my cue and off I went to rent it. Well good thing it was only a rental. I was extremely disappointed along with alot of other people I knew. I will write an entirely separate review for that one.
Time had passed and I had found myself wandering around the game rentals section at Blockbuster, bored with the choices because I had played most of the ones that interested me. My fiancee kept saying that we should rent Chef's Luv Shack, but after the experience with the first South Park game, I couldn't see myself playing this one. Finally, I gave in. We took it home and put it in the Playstation and I was hooked. My fiancee couldn't get me away from it.
Please, if you were disappointed with the first South Park, don't let it sway your decision to try this one. I thought it was funny as heck and found it to be geared more to us faithful South Park fans who have grown to love these strange little children. hahhaa. I mean, come on, what is a South Park game without the " **** Probe "? ( I chose to "****" that word so I would not offend anybody reading about it for the first time )
The Gameplay
This game is set up like a game show. Chef is the host and you guessed it, Kenny, Cartman, Kyle, and Stan are the contestants.
You start the game by choosing the character you want to play, me of course, choosing my favorite, Cartman.
Chef then begins to ask you questions with multiple answers. You have a certain amount of time to choose your answer, or, if playing against friends, you must be the first to answer correctly. You would think that the questions asked would be geared toward the show but they really are not. Many questions are educational. Once you answer a certain amount of questions, Chef will spring one of the surprise " Bonus Rounds " on you. These are a blast!!!
The bonus round will bring back memories with an updated South Park touch. When the round begins, for whatever you are about to play, Chef will give you the rules on the game before you start. What really makes this so much fun is once to begin to play them, you will be brought back to the days when " Pong ", for instance, was one of the coolest games to have. They have taken all of these old games, incorporated the South Park theme into them, and put a new twist on an old pastime. I'm not going to spoil all of the fun and tell you all of the mini games in this because it's more fun finding out on your own.
If you play this game more than once, it will not be the same as the first. If you play it alot, then I do have to admit that with the Trivia rounds, the questions will begin to repeat themselves but the answers come up in a different order. They don't repeat themselves constantly, but you will find repeats. Oh, and for all of you Cartman fans, well let's just say... " WATCH OUT FOR THAT PROBE "!
I still do not recommend this game for young children, even though it's not too damaging with the language, but there are still elements in this game that I find are for mature audiences only.
If you were disappointed with the first game, let it go and give this one a shot! It is definitely worth it. At least it was for us.
I still think Cartman should put out his own " GREATEST HITS " cd! Man that dude can sing. hahhahahahha! Think he does weddings??? :-)
