CHERYLSWISHER's Full Review: Monopoly for Nintendo 64
I love the game of Monopoly, but being of the age 28, it is a little harder to find people to play the game with me (my kids are too young), so when I say this game available I jumped at it. At first I thought it was great to be able to play with the computer, but after only a short time, problems started.
The game:
The game itself is very similar to the board game (except you can't cheat - lol). The pieces are a little more animated and the rules are somewhat different (bartering), but the basic concept is the same.
The animation:
The animation and graphics are excellent. The game really puts a different image in your head of the game and the life-likeness of the places and characters.
The play:
SLOW, SLOW, and sssssssssllllllllllllllooooooooooowwwwwwwwww. The game takes forever to go from person to person and from turn to turn. After a while, you find yourself being tediously bored and wanting the game to be over. The dice turn up slowly and the pieces move one step at a time and the whole game just takes to long.
Overall:
I must say, I prefer to play the board game - even if it is hard to guppy up opponents. It just isn't any fun playing this game from its software.
