Sonic145's Full Review: Crash Bandicoot for PlayStation 1
Crash Bandicoot combines the best of platform gaming with stunning graphics, super-reliable controls, and wacked-out characters give Crash the right to be up there with Mario and Sonic. This game made me glad i bought a Playstation. The graphics were, again, stunning and gorgeous; some of the best I've seen. The movies, however, were cheaply made and boring. We're talking snoozefest with the two endings and beginning movie. But the awesome lighting effects make up for that. The music, although not award-winning, is satisfactory and fits for the most part. But i have to admit, the native levels had freat sound effects in the background. The controls were dead-on mostly, with the exception that landing Crash on a crate was harder than trying to parallel park a bus. This is one of the great games on Playstation that you will continually have a blast playing. The replay value soars, with the added quest of acquiring all of the gems. A definite must-buy for any Playstation owner.
