| Mommy3S's Full Review: Hoyle Card Games 2000 |
A few months ago I bought a game CD for my computer. I love to play cards and don't always get to because of my family's hectic schedule. Out of all that I had to choose from, I opted to purchase Hoyle Card Games made by Sierra Attractions. It offered more games that I liked and more options than most CD-Roms available.
The games offered:
Gin Rummy, Pinochle
Poker, Bridge,
Cribbage, War
Crazy 8s, Go Fish
Hearts, Spades
Euchre, Old Maid
and 30 Solitaire games
Options:
You can choose from beginner or intermediate player. There is a nice selection of backgrounds and deck styles along with several very different characters to play against or with. Once installed, you can even play without the CD. However, if you wish to have sound effects and different backgrounds the CD is required.
My favorite option of all:
Once installed, game can be played online with other live players, by clicking on the icon available. The icon will take you to www.won.net where you start by creating a membership. You then enter the Gathering Place and double click on the game you wish to play. Next to the title of each game there is a number indicating how many people are playing it at that particular time. Inside each game room there is a chat bar and official game hosts. You can ask questions, meet new friends and play games all for the price of the CD-Rom.
