In designing your own ring, you can choose the key features: gold or platinum, what shape stone, etc. I found it helpful because I learned about what the name of different cuts, etc. It was also helpful because I could tinker with the design and get a feel for changing small things without surfing to a bunch of websites or visiting a bunch of stores. In short, the site helped me learn two things: 1) what I like 2) some basic information about diamond rings Another excellent feature is the ability to email your design to someone else. My friend sent this to her boyfriend, whom was shopping for rings but wanted to do it by himself. Her model gave him a good idea of what she liked, and he picked out a great ring on his own! Overall, I believe jewelry MUST be bought in-person, especially when you're dealing with diamonds. That is why I think this website is a great way to get started, but be prepared, it's not a one-stop fix-up.  |
