Our Engagement

I will always remember the evening my husband proposed to me...
It was a Friday evening and we were headed out for dinner I knew something was up for to reasons, first of all he had asked me to dress up for the occasion. And second we were going to Ruths Chris (a nice steakhouse in Dallas). While this may not be unusual for most people it was for us, my husband was a poor college student.
Anyway I figured that he was going to ask me to marry him that evening, but I tried not to let on that I knew anything. I just knew he would be crushed if I spoiled the surprise. As the evening continued, I kept waiting, and the suspense was killing me. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner, and dessert as well, and still no question had been asked. I was beginning to think that he was wimping out of it. On the way home we stopped at this beautiful park, and I knew this would be the spot. We got out, walked around and talked. It was a wonderful evening, and we did have a great time, but he still had not asked me to marry him yet. Now I really doubted that it would ever happen.
As we headed back to his Mother's house I had given up on ever becoming his blushing bride. We walked in the door and he guided me straight back to his old bedroom. When I opened the door I could not believe what I was seeing! Flowers everywhere, all over the room, as well as a little picture frame with a photo of us taken way back in high school when we first started to date. There was a small button on the bottom of the frame which he asked me to push. When I did out came his voice telling me how much he cared about me, and finally after a long wait, asking me to marry him. I said yes and started to cry.
My husband is not normally the romantic type, so this was a big deal for us. It couldn't have been more special to me. And I still have the picture frame, along with his proposal.

The picture frame is avaliable at Radio Shack, and claims that the recording will last 100 years. (If that is the case, then when we do have grand children they will be able to hear the proposal for themselves.)
