Mercata.com is a new shopping site that offers great deals with PowerBuys! A PowerBuy allows users to:
Pool your buying power with other shoppers who are interested in the same product.
Make an offer, which is the maximum price you are willing to pay.
Watch the price drop as more people make offers.
Pay the lowest price achieved by the whole group — if your offer is accepted.
What does that mean for users? You save a lot of money on purchases made at Mercata.
It seems weird, but I have tried it and been very successful.
Once you have chosen an item on PowerBuy to purchase, you make an offer (maximum) for that item. As more people make offers on the same item, the price drops!
I suggest starting LOW, instead of entering your maximum offer. You should also write a message in the PowerTalk section that communicates to other users that you are interested in this item . . . this makes it more appealing to make an offer, which makes the price drop FASTER!
Mercata is even more appealing because they give you $50 for signing up. You can use this money towards purchases, which makes these prices even better.
I think Mercata is a great site. They have a lot to offer in various departments, and the PowerBuys make it so much fun to save MONEY!
