Mercata SAVED me $$$

First I want to say this review is NOT jewelry related. Mercata sells a little of everything so I’m not sure why it’s just listed in this category.
Anyway, a few months ago I desperately needed a new car seat for my daughter as she had exceeded the weight limit on her carrier seat and was getting close to needing to be turned around and I was going to need a front facing seat.
Funds were very tight since my husband had taken a new job that wasn’t working out as we had hoped! What was I to do? I hated the thought of going for a cheap flimsy seat, but the nicer ones were SO expensive. So, I went surfing for some good deals.
I found Mercata.com. They have PowerBuys which work similarly to priceline.com. You find an item and enter an offer. If the final price (based on the demand from other shoppers) drops to your offer or less, you will get it for the lowest price.
I found a carseat called the Cosco Alpha Omega carseat. This was a VERY nice carseat and retailed for $129 at Walmart and at every online resource I came across. So I entered the Powerbuy. The final price was right at $99. This already was a $30 savings, almost a 25% discount.
But it got better. Mercata was running a promotion for Mercata dollars. I received a $50 credit I could use for up to ½ the purchase price of my item. So I was able to apply $49+/- to the carseat. AND shipping was free too! So my bottom price for a $129 carseat was right at $49 including shipping. Well over a 50% savings!
I was able to buy a top of the line carseat for my daughter for less than the cheapy ones. Not only did I save money on my initial purchase, but the carseat I bought turns into a booster seat too. If I had bought a cheapy seat, I would have to turn around again in a few years and buy yet another carseat.
Customer service was great too. The site gave me a UPS tracking number and my package arrived in around 3 days. And the item had been improved with even more features than shown on the website.
I was delighted with my purchase. I would definitely and have recommended Mercata.com. But of course as with any purchases, you should shop around to be sure you are getting the best price.
