That is the surefire winner with teenagers today. It seems no matter what someone buys a teenager they are NEVER happy with it! I believe it has something to do with the fact "adults" picked it out!
If you give cash you can be assured they will buy something they like. Some people feel cash is a thoughtless gift, but I beg to differ. I have always appreciated cash above all other gifts. It ensured the fact I would be able to get something *I* wanted!
I know some people don't like to give cash because they think the child will spend it on junk. To combat that simply give a gift certificate! If you want to give a teenager books, don't buy them what you think they would like. Buy them a gift certificate to Barnes and Nobles or Amazon.com. If you want to get them music give them a gift certificate to CDNow.com.
So if you want a winner give cash or a gift certificate. That way you will have given them a gift they definitely will like!
