You are in a position to earn Income Share the moment you submit a review. If you are a US resident If you are not a US citizen and do not reside in the US If you are a US citizen residing outside the US If you are a US resident: Once a month members that have an existing balance of at least $5 will receive their earnings by PayPal. Payments will be sent out by PayPal on or before the 15th of each month. More information on how to use PayPal here. Top of page If you are not a US citizen and do not reside in the US: OVERVIEW Payments of Review Earnings credits and Income Share bonuses are subject to US withholding taxes. Epinions must deduct this withholding tax from your earnings in those categories and pay it to the US Treasury Department Internal Revenue Service (IRS), unless there is a treaty in place waiving the tax and you provide sufficient documentation to qualify for the treaty. The withholding tax does not apply to earnings from Referral Earnings credits which are classified as service fees and therefore less restricted under IRS rules. Once you have earned $100 in your account, you may redeem your Earnings. You may not redeem a partial amount of your Earnings account; you must redeem all of your credits in your redemption request. If you have ever earned any Review Earnings credits or Income Share bonuses, you must have a US Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) and complete a Form W-8BEN ("Certificate of Foreign Status of Beneficial Owner for United States Tax Withholding") for Epinions to issue you a check. A TIN can be either a US Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) or a US Social Security Number (SSN). Most non-US residents will need to apply for an ITIN. You must provide a TIN on the W-8BEN form to claim treaty benefits on your Review Earnings and Income Share earnings. When Epinions receives your completed paperwork, we can then calculate the amount owed to the IRS, which can range from 0-30% of your earnings from Review Earnings and Income Share earnings. The IRS mandates a 30% tax on copyright royalties earned in the United States, but some nations have treaties with the US that reduce or waive the tax. For the IRS's listing of withholding tax percentages, visit the IRS web page: Countries A-P, R-Z (look in the column "Copyright Royalties - Other"). If your country of residence is not listed, there was not a treaty in place with the US at the time of the IRS publication. STEPS TO REDEEM
Top of page If you are a US citizen residing outside the US: OVERVIEW Like non-resident aliens, you must earn at least $100 in Earnings before you may redeem, and you must redeem the entire total of your account. The IRS may impose backup withholdings of 31% on your Review Earnings credits and Income Share earnings. In order to receive your earnings in full, complete a Form W-9 ("Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification") to Epinions. When you complete this form, you certify that you are not subject to backup withholdings of 31% because you already report all your taxable interest and dividends on your tax return. This allows Epinions to issue you the entire amount of your Earnings. STEPS TO REDEEM
