Global Van lines moved my furniture from New Orleans to Chicago. They were a month late, during the trip they lost track of both the driver and the truck for a week, and then when they showed up, several of the most important pieces of furniture (including the antique dining room table) had been smashed.
I filed a claim, since my shipment was fully "insured" but Global declared bankruptcy and the case is still in court - needless to say, I'll see none of the "insurance" money.

Cons: No integrity, careless, dishonest. They will give you high blood-pressure, ulcers, and rage.

A bad experience all the way. I am considering suing them - at the very least reporting them to the Better Business Bureau, and my lawyer will hear all about it and advise me. The charged me more than twice the original "firm" estimate, the moving-men badly scratched my hardwood floors. They said that the delivery date was 99 per cent certain, and then canceled that delivery date with no firm assurance that the new delivery date is certain. They were friendly and polite initially, and now, despite my attempts at being tactful and patient, they are down right nasty.

A couple good things, on time and friendly workers. Bad thing, don't tell you about hidden fees. A quote means nothing!!! quote you would think means everything from whatever material they use, such as tape!! If I knew I had to pay $3 for tape, I could have gotten it else where for free!!! Surcharges for gas, o.k. I got that gas is $3 a gallon almost (fla) but 1 mile down the road, should be in with quote as paperwork says. When people turn over in company and things change, new owners should make you aware! If your move is less than 3 hrs, do you think you get any monies back? I don't think so.....all moving companies are rip offs, this is how they get you. They know your in a bind and have no choice but to move so you are at there mercy!! Unfortunately the poor guys that move your heavy furniture hear it everyday, about people getting surprises one after the other and they have to deal with it to some extent while the FAT cat sits behind his desk counting his money...

They told me they would arrive on a Friday and showed up 6 days later, left trash in my house and yard, allowed the driver's dog to run through my house, scratched my hardwood floors, put a hole in the drywall when moving a large piece of furniture, charged me 3x what was quoted on line, and have been virtually unreachable for the past 3 weeks while I await delivery. Again they were supposed to deliver today and called (communication made difficult because of language barrier- namely the driver's inability to speak English) wanting to delay again. It has been an incredible, seemingly unending nightmare. I fear my stuff has been smashed or stolen or maybe a little of each.
