Pros: Much cheaper/healthier than microwave popcorn; much easier than the stovetop method Cons: PowerCup inserts hard to find in stores (but can be purchased online)
Microwave popcorn can be expensive if you buy a lot of it (by that, I mean a box, containing 3 bags, typically runs around $2). On the other hand, you can buy a whole pound of popcorn kernels for less than that and get a lot more popcorn for your buck. ...

Pros: very easy to use Cons: None
The first time I had popcorn made in a Power Pop popcorn maker, I was at a friend's house. They were popping the own home grown popcorn in it. I couldn't believe the ease of use and the quality of the popcorn. I went out and bought my own Power Pop...

Pros: easy, economical, great popcorn Cons: have to make sure to always have filters on hand
We truly love popcorn at our house. Over the years, we've used many popcorn makers. From the old fashioned stove top method to hot air poppers, we've tried them all. This includes packaged microwave popcorn. A couple of years ago I bought my husband...

Pros: None Cons: Everything
My husband bought me this as a gift for Christmas and I personally think it was a waste of money (don't tell him that though!). I think the concept of this was to save money vs buying microwavable popcorn in a bag, but in the end, buy a bag instead!...

Pros: Light and fluffy popcorn Cons: Hard to find concentrator inserts
This product was given to me as a Christmas present since I am a great lover of popcorn. This popper pops almost all of the kernels in only 2:20 second in the microwave. The drawback which drives me crazy is that once you run out of power cup...

Pros: Pops good popcorn without oil. Cons: Small batches, popcorn "sweats" in the bowl.
Being unable to find an air popper at my local superstores, I decided to try this microwave popcorn popper. I have found the PowerPop to be a competent popper, even without adding any oil with the popcorn kernels. My only concern, that my microwave was...

Pros: perfect popcorn Cons: have to replace paper cup
I got this popcorn popper for Christmas. At first I thought "You have to be kidding," but this little popper proved me wrong.
I followed the instructions on the box and got a perfectly popped bowl of popcorn. I think there was about...

Pros: Easy to use, easy to clean, very economical Cons: If you don't listen closely enough you can burn the popcorn (as with any other microwaved popcorn)
My husband surprised me and purchased this popper a few days after I told him I wanted to start eating plain popcorn as a snack (I'm on a diet) and needed a new popcorn popper. I expected to purchase and electric one. When he came home from the store...

Pros: easy to use, makes great popcorn Cons: buying the paper cups
I eat popcorn at least 4 times a week - and use my Presto PowerPop every time.
I have had several microwave popcorn poppers (way before they were popular, I was using them), but this is THE very BEST one ever! The only thing I don't like...

Pros: Great tasting popcorn with few unpopped kernels. Cons: The need for the concentrators and the fact that they aren't compatible with my microwave.
I bought the Presto Powerpop Multi-Popper as an alternative to traditional air poppers which tend to be noisy and messy. So far, I have been really disappointed, not with the quality of the popped corn, but with the concentrators you are required to use ...

Pros: ease of use and excellent finished product Cons: none
We purchased our Power Popper about two years ago and have been loving it ever since. My family is big on popcorn, making a batch or two weekly. We have added many flavors to popcorn such as butter, cheese, cinnamon, and even cayenne pepper for a real...

Pros: Excellent tasting, quick & easy Cons: none
The Power Pop is absolutely excellent. We received it free with the purchase of our microwave And it is the best popcorn maker we've had. The taste is that of pan popped popcorn but it is actually popped in the microwave in about 2 minutes. It is easy...

Most functional kitchen gadget I've ever purchased!
by geezerpk ,Feb 25 '05
Pros: Inexpensive, durable, easy to clean, and makes the best popcorn ever to exit a microwave Cons: As others note, the cardboard concentrators are sometimes difficult to find.
It's hard to imagine any simple, inexpensive device that delivers any better performance than this little jewel. It works EXACTLY as advertised. I've owned one for years and have gifted several relatives and friends with them, and the recipients opinions echo mine.
My advice for the serious popcorn epicure is to skip the yellow popcorn usually offered in the grocery, and go for the white - it pops slightly smaller, but it's so much more tender and seems to have a lot less hull. Locally, I live in a bit of a rural locale, I can find only Jolly Time brand in one of the area supermarkets. The only justification I can find for yellow popcorn is that it's great for commercial sellers of popped corn as it fills the bags with fewer kernels. To me, it's texture is to close to cardboard.

Poperific!
by twnklshy ,Jul 27 '05
Pros: fast, easy to clean, pops all kernels nicely without burning. Cons: Inserts can be hard to find in actual store but can be bought online
I love this item. We have had it for many years now. I hate the bagged microwave popcorn and I didn't want an entirely new appliance that I had to store like an air popper. This handy popper is great. It make popcorn just like an air popper, can be cleaned in the sink, and is relatively affordable. I use it often. I can put my own butter and salt on to taste. If you like popcorn you will like this popper.
