Pros: Strong Sucking Power, Bagless, Easy to use Cons: a bit of a pain to empty the canister, Attachments don't stay on the vacuum.
Summary: For Christmas this year one of the gifts my husband and I received was a gift certificate from Target. I was in need of a new vacuum for the downstairs since the one I had been using was a few years old and just didn't pick up the dirt anymore. I do ... read more

Pros: later... Cons: later...
Summary: Let me tell you about the ORIGINAL fantom company. In the 70's Jamed Dyson invented the cyclonic vacuum cleaner, and he was finding someone to make it in the US. A man who owned a small company in canada lisensed the cyclone design and thus the ... read more

Pros: Great suction, easy to use, long lasting filter that really does work. Cons: Doesn't clean close to the walls, need to use attachments for that.
Summary: I was in need of a new vacuum because the belt broke in the one I had and I can't find one that fits and I can't even find a store that sells the particular model I have. I was at a Good Will store in Idaho and noticed they had two nice looking vacuums. ... read more

Pros: VERY good suction, long 30 foot cord. Cons: HEPA filter that must be replaced every 12-18 months. Not expensive though.
Summary: I was driving around my neighborhood earlier and out of the corner of my eye noticed a lone vacuum cleaner, sitting by someone's trash can. I asked the homeowner why they were throwing out and they said only "It doesn't work right". So I took it home ... read more

Pros: good pick up. Cons: after 2 yrs dies out
Summary: I bought this in june of 99. It is now November of 2001 and I am now using a Hoover. I loved this vacuum at first. It was so refreshing to see all the dirt harboring in my carpet get sucked away. After about 8-9 months I noticed the cord was fraying ... read more

Pros: Good suction, convenient hose, Hepa filtration, onboard attachments, bagless. Cons: Attachments fall off easily, headlight is dim, pain to store because of size.
Summary: The Fantom Fury was a free upgrade. I had been using a regular, old bag system and I must say, the Fury probably could've sucked that thing up whole. My Grandmother bought it brand new in 2001. She passed away in October of that year and the Fantom got ... read more

Pros: A reasonably durable machine at a reasonable cost Cons: baseplate can sometimes go
Summary: Of the Fantom uprights, this is the smaller model, roughly identical to the Crosswind 200XL. There were three variations, 10 amp (original), 12 amp, and 12 amp Special Edition. Underneath they are all basically similar. They are not that different. The ... read more

Pros: When new was fabulous Cons: company was sold, plus didn't last long
Summary: When I got the fantom, it was fabulous. We did actually use our old vacuum then use the fantom and it picked up so much more stuff. The cord was very long and I loved only having to plug in 2x for the whole house. It did the kitchen floor very well. The ... read more

Pros: Can see when I need to empty the canister. Works fairly well. Cons: Heavy, cumbersome, attachments suck (or rather don't), canister hard to reattach.
Summary: I have had my Fantom Fury for about 2 years I guess. When I tested it out in the store, it didn't seem that heavy. Well, duh. I was on shiny linoleum. Of course it's going to move fast. When I got in on carpet, it provided quite a work out. My right arm ... read more

Pros: Power, ease of unclogging, wand design Cons: Durability, customer service
Summary: Best vacuum we've tried ( easily have owned 8-10 in 15 years) . Amazing how much stuff this thing pulls out of a carpet. However, we have been through 3 in three years and the last one was rebuilt a year ago at my cost. First one came out of the box with ... read more
