Pros: Maytag quality, high efficiency, max extract feature, auto water level control Cons: High end on prices
When the dryer, that had come with the house we bought, finally coughed up a big lint ball and keeled over, I already knew what brand I wanted to replace it with. Maytag. I had been browsing through the washer and dryer aisles for several months, just...

Pros: quiet, front loader, saves water Cons: very expensive, can't overstuff, doesn't clean as well as advertised
Maytag has created a new upscale line of Washers and Dryers called Neptune. These high-end pair are marketed as larger and more efficient and therefore you will be paying a premium for them. Over the past summer, we stayed in a beach house that had the...

Pros: Cleans power, easy on clothes, energy-and-water efficent. Cons: You have to bend over to load and unload and I drop lots of stuff.
I used to hear those stories about sexually frustrated housewives leaning up against their washing machines for a few cheap thrills. Mind you, I have never tried this myself, but I will tell you this: if that is your motivation for purchasing a washing...

Pros: gets out stains, very efficient, can customize your wash, etc etc! Cons: door lock, buzzer is very quiet (not cons for everyone I am sure!)
This washer is simply amazing. It is very efficient and it does a great job. One of its best features is that it will highly customize the wash to fit your specific load. It is designed in that way to give you a wash cycle that will take the best care of...

Pros: Besides looks, are there any? Cons: Too expensive, breaks down frequently.
Oct. 1, 2006. Well, the beast finally died. To its credit, it didn't go out quietly. No, this dastardly contraption had the gall to scare us to death before ultimately heaving its last breath. Beware, you unfortunates who bought this particular ...

Pros: Cleans great, energy efficient Cons: Expensive
When my GE washer, a mere 6 years old, began walking across my laundry room floor every time I put more than a handful of clothes in it, I knew the time had come to invest in a new washer. My wonderful mother-in-law stepped up and offered to foot...

Pros: Read and find out! Cons: None so far!
whhhsssshhhhh.....shhhhhhhhhh........whhhsssshhhhhh That's the sound our new Maytag Neptune barely makes.
For the last 5 years, we have used coin-op or rented washers. When we bought our house, my parents treated us to a brand new...

Pros: Larger loads cleaner clothes Cons: I miss the repair persons!
I want to be lonely. I do not want to be on a first name basis with the appliance repair persons! I needed a washing machine that was going to get the clothes clean and not break down! I went to my financial planner and said "Can I afford...

Pros: You Will See a Visible Difference in Your Clothes! Cons: Price, Smaller Loads
Let me start off by saying that this was a very expensive purchase! When I first saw this washer in the store, I wondered what made it so deserving of that price. Did it do so good of a job cleaning clothes that it warranted a price that was double...

Pros: Quiet, Large capacity, Lower utility bills, Convenient dispensers, Timed bleach, Handles unbalanced loads, White whites Cons: Tangles & Twists clothes, Takes 2 min to unlock door (mid cycle).
I purchased the MAH4000 washer (and matching gas dryer)a year ago and allowed a reasonable time frame for using it prior to writing an evaluation. Conclusion: The MAH4000 Neptune Washer is a superior performer! I've heard the Hettie (Sears Elite HE3t) ...

Pros: Gets clothes Clean! With less water and soap! Cons: Not really any cons!
Now I realize that most people don’t have hard water problems. But our water for over 43 years has come out of a well, and over the years the casing in the well had rusted so much that the drips in the sinks (caused by the iron flakes) left big red cake...

Pros: Larger capacity, energy efficient Cons: Price
We were considering a front loading washer, so after much research we bought the Neptune based mainly on its larger capacity and also because we have had good success with Maytag appliances through the years. Additionally, two other close couples had...

Pros: Almost Silent, auto-dispensers, efficient, good looking, MaxExtract Cons: no separate wash/rinse controls, white and tan the only colors available
It's hard to believe that this washer could be worth spending over a thousand dollars on, but it is. It really is. I'll skip the design specs that you probably already know about and just tell you why I feel this way.
1--- Silence. Just...
