Chicken Nuggets with out the extra body parts!Sep 10 '00 (Updated Oct 06 '00) Write an essay on this topic.Who has seen the latest report about chicken nuggets? I was in mild shock a couple of nights ago when I saw a report about how our chicken nuggets are processed by name brand food manufactures. They contain all the garbage parts of a chicken that they just can not sell in plain form! Would you go to the grocery store and buy ground chicken skin to serve to your family in it’s plain form? How about that fat we usually cut off or rip and pull as we prepare to cook the birdie? I thought something sounded a little bit Fishy so I decided to do a little nugget research and guess what, I found the fish in there too! There are web sites explaining that the inert ingredients contained in foods are trade secrets and therefore protected by the company in a way that they can sell us a combination of bone fragments and animal organs leading us to believe that we are receiving the real meat. So would this explain why a can of processed meat smells like cat food? We are blinded by easy to eat foods and over look what a hot dog, or piece of bologna are made of and tempted beyond reality to by the ready cooked or fast food goods. “Make a difference in the way we are served, maybe they will change their ways!” My family enjoys boneless chicken breast and I have taken advantage of that and experimented by making my own “Fast Food” products. This recipe is of course “Home made chicken nuggets” Depending on how much you plan to cook in advance will naturally change the amount of ingredients needed. #1) Let’s start with 3lbs of boneless, skinless chicken breasts. (This should be unfrozen to avoid any risk of cutting your self, and will cut into 60 pieces depending on how chunky you want them.) #2) “Golden Dipt Fry Easy All- Purpose Breading Mix” (Breading can be what ever type you enjoy such as beer batter, flour mix, or plain spices.) #3) A decision on how you will cook them, I am using a “Presto Kitchen Kettle” with Vegetable oil heated to 350 degrees for about 10 minutes per every 30 nuggets. Start by cutting the chicken into chunks, or strips and moisten them so the “Golden Dipt” will stick to them. Put into a large plastic container with a lid (Or dump into a plastic bag) add about half a bag of “Golden Dipt” cover and shake. I cook about 30 nuggets at a time in the “Presto Kitchen Kettle” for about 10 minutes. Then I allow them to sit on a platter covered with paper towels to absorb any extra oil. After the nuggets have cooled down you can freeze the nuggets in portioned freezer bags or containers and have microwave ready quick nuggets to serve to your family or friends! Total cost of this is around $11.00 depending on the price of boneless chicken breast and I am sure if you wanted to take the time to remove the meat off of thighs, or fryer packs you could save money and the taste would be just as good. If you would like to read more about the way chicken nuggets are made and or any other product I suggest down loading a web ferret and conduct exact phrase searches, it could change the way you eat today! A web ferret is explained in my ferret review if you feel like checking it out. *Note: Updated due to a mistake I made in the name of the “Presto Kitchen Kettle” I had said “Rival Kitchen Kettle” Sorry about that mistake. |
