This product is one of the best things you can put your money into on the market today! I am usually so skeptical of things "working miracles" because you usually get them home and they DONT. However.....
I was in the market for a steam cleaner because I have 5 cats and 2 kids (enough said). The salesman informed me that every one of the Bissels he sold came back due to problems with shorting out, which left me the Hoovers. There were three different types, but I highly recommend this one. It is only $100 more than the cheapest one, and here are the advantages the other don't have:
-power tools (more to clean upholstry, stairs, and your car)
-hose for attachments is 2 feet longer
-clean surge button (this is the best, if you have a spot on your carpet you can push this button to release more cleaning solution over that area)
-6 brushes instead of 5 (cleans area faster)
-more power
They all clean both carpet and bare floors, and they all have the same capacity (I believe it's one gallon).
As far as using it goes, it is so easy! I figured it would be more complicated, but it's as simple as putting water in a container and pressing a power button. Instructions that are included are very easy to follow and cover everything. There is even a yellow indicator that will pop up when your disposal tank needs to be emptied and the unit will turn off until you empty it. The unit itself is not as heavy as you would expect, my vacuum cleaner actually weighs more. The cleaning takes a little time, but it only took me about an hour to do two rooms. Then the carpet takes about 6-9 hours to dry.
The end result is this: my carpet, which has NEVER been cleaned now looks brand new. All the dirt from shoes in the entry way, all the stains from the cats and my children -- gone. When I poured out the dirty water I was disgusted at all the dirt that was "hidden" in my carpet.I am in shock! It is the best thing I have ever put my money into and highly recommend it to anyone!
