Beat in separately brown sugar, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla. Add flour with baking soda. Mix well with spoon. Stir in peanuts and chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Press down with floured fork. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes or until nicely browned. Let cool one minute before removing from cookie sheet. This makes a about 4 dozen cookies.
