I'm a guy, so that means I rarely vacuum. At least most men don't vacuum. But if you're a guy and you have to vacuum, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the FANTOM. My wife bought the Fantom cyclone XT and we literally fight over who is going to use it. There's something about seeing all that dirt and hair swirling around inside the canister that tells you how well you are cleaning. You feel a great sense of accomplishment. Sounds crazy, but it's true, and you can actually breathe better because of the hepa filter when you're done.

I always used to ask my wife to vacuum with the old vacuum when I wasn't home because of all the dust it would stir up. You would literally see the dust floating in the sunlight. With the Fantom and the hepa filter, you also have to do less dusting, and it's great on pet dander if you have pets. We're also expecting our first child in November and it's nice to know how extra clean the floors and carpets will be when he's crawling around.

There is an attachment in the handle that telescopes out when you release it, making it easy to maneuver and get the job done by being so handy. It's a real snap to get to the baseboards and atop the curtains if you must. It then snaps right back into place and you can continue on your way without missing a trick.

The vacuum also has a headlight, a powerful 12 amp motor and runs relatively quiet for a vacuum with such power. There's also a switch for use on hardwood floors or carpet, as well as the switch for usual carpet depth adjustments.

What can I say? This is the best vacuum I have ever used, except for a $1500 Kirby. Although, the Kirby is very expensive, heavy and not easy to move between features. I also used a Rainbow, but didn't like having to empty out the mucky water each time. And, if you were in a hurry and didn't empty it, it would get really gross.

Fantom is the only way to go. Fast, quick, easy and reasonably priced for all that it does. This vacuum just sucks, in a good way!
